Your First Post

The image below shows the editing environment within which you create your blog posts. We're going to look at this editing environment in more detail, so for now give your blog a title, type some text in the white space and then click on "Publish Post". Notice that Blogger saves drafts of your post automatically as you are writing your post.

You will be taken to a new screen. If you click on "View Blog" your new blog will open in the window that you are viewing (don't do this!). If you click on "in a new window" your blog will open in a new window (do this!). You'll also see that you can edit your post and create a new post. We will be doing each of these later in the workshop.

Now click on the "Dashboard" link in the top right hand corner of your screen to go back to the Blogger main page.
Now that you've created your first blog and added a post, we're going to create a second post.To do this, we need to be at the Blogger Dashboard.

You can return to the Dashboard at any time by clicking the link in the top right hand corner of the web page.

The interface shown below lets you manage your Blogs. To create a new post click on "New Post".

You will be taken to a screen identical to the one you used for your first post. If you like you can repeat the process to create a second post for your blog.
Again, you can view your blog either in the same window or in a new window once you have published your post.
